Just as players are coached to maximize their performance potential, so too must soccer clubs grow and develop to meet theirs. NASC provides you with an unbeatable wealth of educational tools and coaching resources to help you reach your goals. Using a licensed staff trained in Strengths-Based Coaching, a developmentally-appropriate curriculum, a highly comprehensive player assessment and evaluation, as well as customizable forms and documents to assist you in running your club, NASC caters to all of your training, educational, and operational needs.

One of the most daunting challenges your organization faces is the implementation of an assessment program-typically called "tryouts." Tryouts are often viewed as a means of elimination rather than a chance to identify which players best fit your team's needs. NASC looks at tryouts as an opportunity to identify strengths of players and coaches and address any challenges with action plans and coaching programs. We call this Strengths-Based Coaching. We also need to assist in your coaches' development within a non-threatening and supportive environment. By taking your coaches through the NASC Coach Assessment Program, they receive feedback on their coaching as well as action plans and strategies for the upcoming season. This ultimately benefits both the coach and the players.

The Club Training Program provides an organization with one or more professional trainers that work exclusively for your organization on a seasonal basis. The trainers roles and responsibilities are extensive and varied, and can be tailored to meet your organization's exact requirements. Typical areas of focus are listed below; however, NASC conducts an initial meeting with your organization in order to better outline the program and make it the most effective for your organization. The idea behind the trainer program is to develop your coaches so that we essentially become redundant in the future! After this initial meeting we will design a program for your organization and send you a formal proposal.
Once you have selected the plan you feel best suits your club, we then select a qualified NASC Trainer to work with your organization. Depending on the structure of your club and the needs of the program, we will select a Play S.A.F.E., A.T.T.A.C.K. or Pro Performance Training trainer. To ensure that all training meets the needs of specific teams or age divisions the NASC Trainer works with a coordinator within the host organization. The program can last for four or more weeks, and in all cases we try to accommodate requests for a specific trainer. Whenever possible, we assign the same trainer over a number of seasons.
Our unique online curriculum allows the host organization to follow along with the session plans implemented by the resident trainer. All sessions for the season are age appropriate and follow the Play S.A.FE., A.T.T.A.C.K. or Pro Performance Training curriculum. This structure ensures consistent outcomes and results for every player and coach within your program.
Typical Structure
Phase One: The Foundation Level
Phase One typically takes place during the first weeks of the program. It consists of nightly coaching sessions with assigned teams. It is imperative that your coaches be in attendance, as this provides the foundation for the whole program. As part of this phase there may be coaches clinics and workshops held. Coaches are encouraged to take notes and debrief all of the sessions with our trainer.
Phase Two: The Co-Coaching Stage
During Phase Two, your coaches and the NASC trainer work together to plan and implement the sessions. We suggest your coaches go online and review the curriculum and print off the sessions to follow along and implement during the practice. This assists in the development of your coaches and adds to the total experience of your players
Phase Three: The Evaluation Phase
Phase Three is where your coaches partake in the practice sessions and are observed and evaluated by the NASC trainer. At the end of each session, you are given an evaluation sheet with details of positives and challenges to work on. At the end of this phase, a formal debrief is held with your coaches, where your thoughts are shared and questions answered. At the end of the program, you and your organization are given a development plan that stresses areas of strengths and needed improvement.

Running a soccer club to its potential is a full-time job for volunteers who simply don't have the time. This results in a lack of development in your organization's players, coaches, parents and referees. NASC has identified the key traits and packaged them into the Director of Coaching (DOC) program. Our DOCs are elite staff members that go through intensive training and possess the right attributes on the field and understand how to implement and organize development off the field. Oftentimes, organizations request the trainer that worked at their club to remain throughout the year. However, if they have not been identified by us as having the necessary attributes, what they then get is a full-time trainer. Consider the features a qualified DOC could offer a host organization:
Features
To ensure that the host organization gets the maximum benefit from the DOC position, we begin with an enhanced club evaluation that serves as the foundation for the program. This establishes areas of improvement and opportunities. Hiring a full-time DOC gives you consistency and creates a progression plan for the future. NASC monitors the progression of your club to ensure you are getting full use of your DOC.
