Marine Acoustics, Inc.
Marine Acoustics, Inc. (MAI) specializes in tactical development for foreign military sales. Specifically, MAI provides assistance with ASW and ASUW training for sensors and weapons systems on frigates including, tactical development/employment manuals, and associated training complementing released USN tactical publications. This is accomplished in three phases:
- Development of ASW Tactical Manuals
- Development of Tactical Curriculums
- Teach Tactical Curriculums
MAI offers a cadre of personnel with a unique blend of scientific, technical, and operational Navy expertise. This team provides
the backbone for assessing a variety of technologies including acoustic and non-acoustic USW and ASW, littoral warfare, remote
sensing, basic underwater research, and bio-acoustics. Members of our team have planned and executed numerous sea-tests, co-designed major acoustic detection systems, and contributed to the development of several acoustic models and associated software.
Levels of sound in the sea and other human activity in the marine environment can affect the behavior, and in some cases, injure marine life. Addressing these concerns has become an increasingly important goal for many of the oceans users.
MAI has pioneered an extraordinary technology, the Acoustic Integration Model (AIM). This standardized software assessment
tool is used by MAIs staff to determining the net sound exposures experienced by animals in the vicinity of a stationary or
moving sound source over a period of time.
