The 10-week curriculum is available in 14 categories ranging from 2-4 year recreational to 17-19 year competitive.

Learning Stages
At NASC our Kidriculum was designed around key learning stages for youth players. Once these were defined we developed a series of activities around a theme such as Play S.A.F.E. and A.T.T.A.C.K. that would lead to the attainment of targets and goals. These learning stages are defined as follows:

PLAY S.A.F.E. (U4-U10)
Soccer: Every activity we coach to campers has components of technique as well as some type of tactical decision making. All activities must include, or develop into, an activity with a ball, opponent, goals or scoring areas, rules and boundaries.

Awareness: This theme is based around the needed pathways of children: self-worth, caring (comes from giving and receiving), responsibility and freedom, fun and excellence.

Fun: The activity breaks and theme days are an integral part of this program. At every age group there are different age appropriate themes from M & M’s at the U4 level through Netbusters and Backyard Soccer at the U10 level.

Education: Players may have homework to practice at backyard soccer with a friend, and then come to camp the next day and describe how the game was played. We make players more aware of soccer, and at the end of each day we reinforce the skills learned.

Technique: The Progression from Techniques to Skills and Tactical Decision-Making
Ball familiarity, feints and turns, passing for possession and penetration, entering the attacking third, controlling and screening the ball, scoring and finishing attitudes, dribbling skills to beat an opponent, defensive and attacking heading, attacking the prime scoring area, maximizing scoring opportunities, crossing to scoring positions, attacking runs with and without the ball, tackling and defensive pressure, positional demands for defenders, midfield players and attackers

Awareness: Decision-Making Skills, Positional Sense and Development to Functional Training
Team shape, movement on and off the ball, attacking strategies, set plays, communication skills, defensive pressure and balance, man-to-man versus zone defense, direct or indirect play, transitional play, creating a game plan, intricate systems of play, offside play

Competition: Putting Skills Learned into a Competitive, Pressurized, Game-Related Environment
1 v 1 duels, small-sided tournaments (3 v 3, 4 v 4, 5 v 5), full-sided exhibition play, skills testing and evaluation, match and team analysis, MLS tournament (regional opposition)

Knowledge: The objectives of the practice must be clear to the players so they are able to implement the skills learned. Team and individual evaluations, winning strategies, and a seasonal plan are ways to facilitate this goal

A.T.T.A.C.K. Ages: U10-U14
Attitude. Training. Technique. Awareness. Competition. Knowledge.
The A.T.T.A.C.K. program is for the more serious soccer player looking to progress to the next level. The majority of players at these camps are moving from a recreational to a more competitive camp setting, and looking to develop their techniques and test them against opponents within a team setting. The coaching style on these camps is designed to maximize the player's ability and push them along by insisting on correct attitude, reinforcing the need for soccer-specific conditioning before moving through a technical to tactical to positional play within the team. At the end of each camp day we move into a competitive setting before warming down and discussing the theme for the day and how they can use this during their upcoming season. At this level we are looking to see if players understand the responsibilities of positions on the field as well as formations and tactics. Above all, an attitude to compete and develop is #1!

R.E.A.C.H. Goalkeeper Training Ages: U10 - U18
Readiness. Excellence. Attitude. Coordination. Handling.
In creating the Goalkeeper Training program, we recognized the uniqueness of the position and injected a number of preparatory speed and agility drills, skill development drills and active functional practices. Many of the rule changes invoked by FIFA have had a significant impact on the position and demands of coaching the position. The role of the keeper is addressed directly in our R.E.A.C.H. curriculum: Readiness, Excellence, Attitude, Coordination and Handling. The first three areas address the mentality and the demands of the position. Coordination and handling relate to the specific skills needed for the goalkeeper as we coordinate the psychological training with the technical and tactical elements. Goalkeepers must be well rounded in all aspects of the game. R.E.A.C.H. ensures that they are equipped for the demands of shot stopping, diving and deflections, catching and punching, positional play, distribution, field organization and playing the role of the fifth defender.

Pro Performance Training
Rather than call this program a "camp," NASC prefers to see it as a training week to prepare your most advanced players for their upcoming season. The curriculum is a replica of what a pro player might expect to go through as they prepare for the season. The emphasis on Physical, Positional and Team Performance requires that only our most elite coaches be used. At this level it is not just playing with a soccer ball, but a chance for players to test themselves against opponents to see how prepared they are to attain the elite level of play that professionals aspire to. Our goal is to develop complete players who understand team formations and strategies, with practice always at game intensity. They must also have a clear understanding of their positional role within the team. As part of Pro Performance Training, our team of professionally certified Conditioning Trainers runs a clinic to educate your coaches on how to utilize the training package. All equipment is left with your organization so you can continue to condition your players throughout the season. This Conditioning Training Package is valued at over $600, and consists of 5 Medium Smart Toners (covered resistance tubing), 5 Slingshots, 2 Agility Ladders and 12 Agility Hurdles.

There are four specific areas or stations: conditioning, defending, midfield and attacking play. All players rotate around these stations and are coached by one of our specialist coaches from that field of play. At the end of the session we finish with individual goalkeeper training (aided by strikers) to ensure that we do not neglect one of the most important players on the field!
