The NASC P-3 Orion Flight Simulator

The Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation (NASC) P-3 Orion fight simulator allows both experienced and new pilots and flight engineers the opportunity to hone their abilities and, ultimately, acquire the skills and techniques required for qualification in the P-3C Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft.

Located in Jacksonville, FL, the NASC P-3 Training Facility houses a full-scale, P-3 Orion 2F142 Operational Flight Trainer (OFT). This static flight simulator is fully operational and complete with engine and instrument panels, hydraulic control loading and navigation systems. In 2014, our 2F142 OFT was upgraded from the original low light visual system to a modern, high fidelity display to further enhance this virtual training experience.

Flight Station Features:
• Engine and Instrument Panels
• Hydraulic Control Loading
• Electronic FDI/HSI
• Digital Power Gauges
• Military GPS and Radios
• Airfield Visuals

In the classroom, P-3 Orion trainees are given a comprehensive education in all aspects of General Airmanship, Instrumentation, and Crew Resource Management. Seminars and group discussions focus on aircraft malfunctions and common techniques as well as recent trends in safety and training to fully prepare the students for the aircraft.

Featured Academic Instruction:
• Aircraft Systems
• Normal Operation and Emergency Procedures
• Maintenance and Functional Check Procedures
• Communication and Navigation Procedures
• Aircraft Systems and Limitations Seminars
• Crew Resource Management

Nasc P 3 Controla

NASC simulator training emphasizes the practical application of academic knowledge and provides the hands-on time necessary to develop a high level of motor skill proficiency for both fundamental and unexpected situations. Once inside the P-3 Orion simulator, pilots and flight engineer trainees will benefit from scenario-based training featuring realistic flight circumstances including emergency procedures and weather-related anomalies.

Featured Simulator Flight Training:
• Cockpit Familiarization
• Complex, Multi -Engine Instrument Training
• Normal and Emergency Procedures
• Upgrading Pilot and Flight Engineer Scenarios
• Ground Engine Turn and Taxi Pilot Training
• Landing Pattern Procedures

P 3 Orion Simulator3

Our goal is to develop highly competent P-3 Orion pilots and flight engineers. The NASC P-3 training facility staff of instructors and technicians is eminently capable of achieving this goal by offering the expertise required to build a mission-ready flight station. Our trainers include former U.S. Navy Fleet Replacement Squadron (FRS) NATOPS instructor pilots and flight engineers dedicated to providing a high-value learning experience. Having these highly-qualified instructors ensures a consistent, standardized, and accurate curriculum.

Instructor Staff Information:
• Former U.S. Navy Fleet VP-30 FRS Instructor Pilots and Instructor Flight Engineers
• Instructors Average Over 4,000 Flight Hours and Over 1,300 Instructor Hours
• Instructors are Former NATOPS Evaluators and Instructor Under Training Instructors
• Experienced in Foreign Military Training
• Simulator Technicians on Site During All Simulator Operation
