The NASC Teros™

Announcing the Redesigned Teros-C from NASC

The adaptable NASC Teros has undergone a significant redesign to make it even more valuable to industry, research and government customers looking for a MALE UAV for a vast array of applications. The new Teros-C airframe now shows the sleek lines and utilitarian improvements ideally suited to unmanned flight.

The Teros-C features a new Type-Certificated engine along with many Type-Certificated parts. The new power plant is a Lycoming IO-235 with Full Authority Digital Engine Controls (FADEC). This four-cylinder, air-cooled, horizontally opposed piston engine generates up to 116 hp.

The most visual change with the Teros-C model is to the forward fuselage. Wider and lower to reduce drag and allow for more payload volume. In fact, the new configuration has doubled the fuselage payload bays from two to four. The previous Teros model had no wing hard points but the Teros-C features six wing hard points to carry external loads. The redesigned fuselage also allows for an 80% increase in fuel capacity.
Other improvements in the Teros-C include a larger rudder surface area and a ground variable pitch propeller for more precise control and more powerful actuators with redundancy throughout the aircraft.

  • The extraordinarily rugged Teros features robust and unique construction for high durability without unnecessary weight or loss of payload capacity.

  • Teros offers the volume and power to fly substantial payloads.

  • Wider and lower forward fuselage reduces drag and allows for more payload volume.

  • Teros integrates critical redundant flight control systems and a smart electrical system to prevent complex failures.

The NASC Teros™ is a Group 4/5 UAS designed to be operated and fully integrated into the National Airspace System. Teros can fly the programmed mission autonomously and seamlessly within the air traffic control system. Teros achieves an exceptionally high level of Availability, Reliability, and Maintainability (ARM). The ARM process continues to be the primary evaluation criteria for all spiral upgrades, maintenance methods, and procedures.

Teros integrates critical redundant flight control systems and a smart electrical system to prevent complex failures. The surprisingly agile Teros features robust construction and durability without sacrificing its lightweight design. With short takeoff and landing capability, fast field assembly, rapid servicing, and autonomous flight operation, Teros is a highly versatile and highly capable aerial platform.
